Taking It Lightly

(see schedule below)

Taking It Lightly is an experiential weekend of personal growth and enlightenment.  Early in life, people make decisions about what it would take for them to survive in their world emotionally and/or physically.  Those decisions continue to guide them through life.  As they grow older, however, their skill levels change and those early decisions are no longer appropriate to their current circumstances often causing depression, anxiety and unsatisfying relationships.

The good news is those decisions can be uncovered and changed.  Instead of spending your life at the effect of your past, you can re-decide your beliefs about the world and experience being the cause of your life.  In changing how you perceive the world, you can change your reactions to people and circumstances, and be more in control of your results.

Activities during the weekend focus on increasing self-awareness, and changing one's attitudes and behaviors.  The process that produces the change includes writing, verbal interactions, psychodrama, and role playing.  The group structure provides and emphasizes personal choice and emotional safety.  Instructors and assistants help students safely experience and then accept previously shut-off or over-reactive feelings.

Taking It Lightly guides you to experiencing that you are master of your emotions and that it is possible to accept and feel them fully.  You will learn skills for communicating your feelings in ways that are appropriate to your circumstances and without hurting others.  You will also experience compassion and understanding for other's feelings.

As the weekend draws to a close, integration activities are introduced during which participants find their way to forgiveness, resolution, and greater spiritual awareness.  They plan the action steps which will reinforce their new decisions of personal responsibility for their own aliveness, success, and life experience.  Continuing group support opportunities are available to the graduates at the Center.

If you want to experience greater self-acceptance, awareness of the appropriate expression of emotions, increased aliveness and prosperity, improved relationships and communication, this is the weekend for you.
