Mike Lingar, PsyD., LLP

 


Dr. Lingar has been at the Center since 2003.  He has a B.S. in Behavioral Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, an M.A. & Psy.S. in Humanistic and Clinical Psychology from the Center for Humanistic Studies Graduate School in Detroit, and a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in Farmington Hills.  Dr. Lingar's expertise lies in Sport, Exercise & Performance Psychology, Boy's & Men's work, Addiction & Recovery issues, and Geropsychology.

 

Dr. Lingar has extensive training and experience in psychological testing, custody and parenting time assessment, Family and Couples therapy, group work, and Existential dream analysis.  His clinical work covers a large spectrum of clientele, from high-level athletes and performers looking to maximize their full potential, to at-risk individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness, all at various ages and with culturally diverse backgrounds.  His Doctoral dissertation, The experience of applying sport psychology, researched the attributes and characteristics of leading sport psychology practitioners from all over North America.
